Our daughter sent us pictures of their golden retriever lounging on the round dog bed with the painting in the dinging area. My wife felt a painting with similar colors would draw the eye to the dining area and integrate the entire large space. It might seem like an odd pairing, but the dog bed, that looks more like a large floor pillow in a bold contemporary geometric ikat design was a colorful focal point in their mostly white modern open living / dining room. Just last winter my wife purchased a striking painting that coordinated with a high quality online round pillow dog bed for our daughter's new home that was just finished over looking Lake Michigan.
